documentary idea!

Documentary.

My documentary will be on different peoples music taste, and why they choose to listen to what they listen to, For example you can normally tell the type of music people listen to by the way they dress. I think this is a very good idea to do my documentary on because it is different and there so much in the music industry to talk about, for example there is different types of genres of music, indie, rock, pop, and many more.

The Jeremy Kyle Show - 2012 opening Titles & New Set

Jeremy Kyle is a show that attracts all sorts of people, it is on at 10:25 in the morning for an hour, the show consists of people arguing about their problems, which gives entertainment to the audience in the studio and at home.

The audience who watch this show are people that are at home on a weekday morning, this means the people that view the show will most likely not work, or attend part time employment.

The people that watch the Jeremy Kyle show are people that thrive of other peoples difficulties, and find them entertaining.

The age range for this show will most likely be 16-30, I think this because at the age of 16 children are starting to watch daytime TV instead of kids TV. and i think to 30 because that will be the age where they find it most entertaining.

This show will also appeal to students that are in part time education, for example if the students go to college 3 days a week the other 2 days they have off they may watch Jeremy Kyle in the morning because most teenagers get up at about 10am if they have nothing to get up for, therefore they will be in time for Jeremy Kyle at 10:25. they may also find it rather entertaining to watch.

Magazine analysis

This magazine cover will mostly interest people that have an interest in music, i can tell this because on the front of the cover is a picture of a band, and their band name 'Green day'.

The people that will mostly read this magazine and be interested is people that are into rock music, i can tell this because the band 'green day' can be included in the rock genre, also the title 'KERRANG' is rather sharp with lines going through it, which gives the impression of a sharp heavy rock song/music.

This magazine will also appeal to teenagers, in the age range of 13-20. The reason i am saying this is because that is the age range that listen to music the most, for example if they are sudents and they travel to college/school by car they will then have the radio on in the car, on the other hand if they travel to college/school on the bus they may wear headphones. The magazine also offers 5 free posters, and teenagers mostly have posters on their walls.

Social grading.

This table shows how media networks class their audiences into different categories, they do this for many reasons one being because the people aren't all in the same group, so they enthersise people are in different classes.

For example 'BARB' provides information about TV shows for viewers.

On this worksheet i have explained the stereotypical audiences for the following media products.
For example 'Nuts magazine' is aimed at men in the age range of 18-40 because of the connatations it has.
